Privacypolicy

Last updated 20 October 2026

AfterOp ("we", "us") is a concierge service for international patients recovering in hotels in Incheon, Korea. This policy explains what information we collect when you use afterop.com, why, and the choices you have. We keep it to what the service actually needs.

What we collect

We do not ask for, and you should not enter, medical records, payment card numbers or passport details. Please keep notes to what we need to deliver your food (for example allergies or "leave at reception").

How we use it

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Some of these providers store or process data outside your home country, including in Korea, the United States and China.

The question assistant

The assistant answers questions using your clinic's written instructions. Your question and the conversation so far are sent to DeepSeek, an AI provider, to produce the answer. We do not store the text of your questions; we only keep a one-way scrambled version of your IP address for a short time to limit misuse. Please don't include your name, contact details or other personal information in your questions. Answers are written by AI and may not always be accurate — they are not medical advice.

Information stored on your phone

To save you retyping, the site stores your name, hotel, room, WhatsApp number, recent tracking links and your text-size setting in your browser's local storage on your device. The chat conversation is kept only until you close the browser tab. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's website data. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. A single sign-in cookie is used only on the concierge's private dashboard.

How long we keep it

We keep order and meal-budget records for as long as we need them to provide the service, settle any amounts at the end of your stay, and meet our record-keeping obligations. After that we delete or anonymise them. Tracking links stop being useful once your order is delivered.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or ask us to stop using it, by contacting your concierge. Depending on where you live, privacy laws (for example in the UK, EU, Australia, Canada, the US or Korea) may give you additional rights, and you may be able to complain to your local privacy regulator. We will respond to requests within a reasonable time.

Security

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), the concierge dashboard is protected by a private sign-in, and we limit the information we collect. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid sharing sensitive information you don't need to.

Children

The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
